207 Task 3 3D Model.
This 3D model supports learners completing Unit 207 Task 3: Lay Floor Joists, giving a detailed visual guide to how suspended floor structures are set out, fixed, and braced. Visitors can explore how wall plates are positioned, how joists are marked out at correct centres, and how each joist is aligned, levelled, and secured—mirroring the exact process described in the Practical Task Book. The model also demonstrates the installation of herringbone struts, shown in the book as diagonal “X”‑pattern braces that “prevent the joists from twisting and spread loads evenly across the floor.” By pairing the model with the task book, learners gain both the technical instructions and the spatial understanding needed to create a stable, safe, and compliant floor structure. This combined resource helps learners visualise each stage clearly, build confidence before practical assessment, and understand exactly what good practice looks like when laying floor joists to industry standards.
